Little Cirilla's mom contacted me about doing newborn photography in Richfield, Utah for her sweet baby girl. Cirilla was already almost 6 weeks old, but her parents really wanted to get some newborn images done. Luckily I had an opening and we were able to get her in right away. I had warned them that we might not get as many sleepy posed shots because she might be more awake due to her age, but honestly she was a complete pleasant surprise! She slept through most of her session and was such a little sweetheart. Sometimes you just never know how they are going to react! I like to tell people that newborns have their own opinions, and we are just along for the ride!

Before each of my Central Utah newborn photography session, I send a questionnaire to the parents asking their preferences for the photos. One of the big questions is what colors they want. Cirilla's mom requested white/cream, orange/rust, purple and aqua/teal.

Before the client arrives, I go through my embarrassingly huge amount of newborn props and choose items that coordinate. That way, we can move through different set ups smoothly.

I also ask parents if they have a preference for different props and to select up to two that they would like to see their baby photographed in. Cirilla's mom chose the basket and little metal bed, but I could not resist trying her in the bucket also because she was being so agreeable. I love the way this image turned out. Posing babies in the bucket can be a challenge, but it is so worth it!

I think this little white bonnet is my new favorite. She looked so sweet in it!

At the end of the session, she woke up enough to do some of my favorite newborn photography images: mugshots. I just love how they show off her sweet little personality and big bright eyes!
